Synthetic IR Studio

A quick guide to getting an impulse response out of the system. You do not need to understand every parameter before you start.

1. Load a preset

Choose a preset that is close to the kind of space or response you want. Presets are starting points, not fixed models.

2. Set the overall length

Adjust RT60 and/or IR Length to establish the broad duration of the response.

3. Shape the response

Change the architecture-specific controls to taste. These may affect reflection structure, density, diffusion, stereo behaviour, spectral decay, modal character, scattering, ringing, or other aspects of the IR.

4. Click Generate

Parameter changes are not applied automatically. After changing settings, press Generate to render a new impulse response.

5. Audition and adjust

Listen to the result, look at the waveform or analysis if useful, then change whatever interests you and generate again.

6. Export

When you like the result, export the IR and load it into your preferred convolution reverb.

That is basically it.

Start from something useful, move the controls, listen, generate again, and see where it goes. The system is designed for exploration as much as for reproducing familiar reverberation types.

Tip: if you change a control and nothing appears to happen, make sure you clicked Generate.
